The National Rifle Association’s Basic Pistol Shooting class is designed to teach you the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to safely own a handgun. This is a basic course and no prior experience is needed.
This course runs approximately 8 hours and includes both classroom work and range time. The students will learn how to shoot their revolvers and/or semi-automatic pistols.
Students will also learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol nomenclature and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range safety rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and additional opportunities for skill development.
